Abrasive Waterjet Cutting Applications

Waterjet cutting has significant benefits compared to other cutting processes such as wire EDM, laser, plasma or conventional sawing and machining. Since waterjet cutting is a cold process, there is no heat-affected zone (HAZ), recast layer or hardened surface layer.

Springfield Manufacturing machine tool based waterjet systems have some unique benefits such as: cutting to accuracies of ± 0.0005" (± 0.0125 mm) – 10 times better than most conventional systems and integrated inspection systems for on-machine locating and measuring, which can drastically reduce set-up and inspection times. Our integrated inspection tools allow us to produce consistent results even when the incoming material isn't consistent.
