Springfield Manufacturing has state-of-the-art capabilities for removing coatings from aero and industrial turbine components.  We can remove thermal barrier coatings (TBC’s) - even diffused bond coats, diffused aluminide coatings, carbide wear coatings and abradable coatings.  The process is independent of coating or base material chemistries.

Our environmentally-friendly, green process is rapidly replacing environmentally hazardous acid stripping methods of coating removal.  In addition, our process is a lean process, perfectly suited to single piece work flow, rather than the batch acid stripping process.

Springfield’s hybrid waterjet stripping process eliminates masking and unmasking steps required for acid stripping.  The chance for inter-granular attack (IGA) and hidden damage inside cavities of coated parts is completely eliminated.
